CCSS Club Championships

Club championships this weekend at Caerphilly Leisure Centre

The CCSS championships is the start of another busy time of swimming, and the aim is to for all swimmers of the club to be able to compete in a friendly atmosphere and to gain times for the coming season.  This will be a lot of swimmers first competition, so we ask that all swimmers and supporters show support during the weekend for all swimmers.

All swimmers need to be on poolside 15 minutes prior to the start of each warm up.

They will need, club T-shirt, costume, goggles, club hat, towel, flip flops and a small amount of food and water – there are to be no kit bags / mesh bags on poolside as space is limited.  All swimmers are to stay with the coaches on poolside.

Warm ups

Friday – Warm up 06:30 pm – Start time 07:00 pm

Saturday – Warm up 12:30 pm – Start time 1:00 pm

Sunday – Warm up 12:30 pm – Start time 1:00 pm

There will be trophies and medal presentations during the Saturday and Sunday sessions and all swimmers are asked to stay for these.

There will be of course the usual Cannon relay at the end of Sunday, where the older swimmers and some coaches compete in a relay that is chosen at random – so please all try and stay to cheer !!!

Enjoy the weekend, and we look forward to seeing you all.

New blocks have arrived!

After months of hard work fundraising by swimmers, committee and parents we now have the new blocks fitted and in place at Caerphilly leisure centre.

Swimmers in C squad were the first to try out the new blocks at a Friday training session, and all squad swimmers have now been able to train with the new blocks.

A big thanks you to all that have helped us to achieve raising the money for our swimmer to benefit from being able to train with these blocks.

As a club we are always looking for new ways to obtain the best available equipment for our swimmers to train with – as a club our next target will be to raise money to add the back stroke step to the new blocks – look out for updates on this activity.

End of an era – and thank you !

All Swimmers and Parents at CCSS wish you well for the future and a bit thank you – not forgetting Nicola (Tony’s wife) who has kept our club champs medals and trophies in order.
