We will start back in August and all squads first training session will be Tuesday 28th August in Heolddu.

Those swimmers that are competing in the Swim Wales Summer Nationals, please remember that club tracksuit is to be worn to the venue and club kit for poolside.

Club Championships will take place over the weekend of September 9-10-11, so please remember that entry forms need to be returned by the closing date, and all swimmers in all squads are to enter – if you are not sure, please speak with Sian.

Coaching staff and committee thank you all for your continued support – enjoy the summer break, see you all in August and stay safe.

New blocks have arrived!

After months of hard work fundraising by swimmers, committee and parents we now have the new blocks fitted and in place at Caerphilly leisure centre.

Swimmers in C squad were the first to try out the new blocks at a Friday training session, and all squad swimmers have now been able to train with the new blocks.

A big thanks you to all that have helped us to achieve raising the money for our swimmer to benefit from being able to train with these blocks.

As a club we are always looking for new ways to obtain the best available equipment for our swimmers to train with – as a club our next target will be to raise money to add the back stroke step to the new blocks – look out for updates on this activity.

End of an era – and thank you !

948.jpgAt the AGM of CCSS yesterday evening saw the out going chair person Tony Roberts hand over the reigns to Kara Enoch.

Tony has worked tirelessly for the club over the last 5 years, and one achievement was gaining CCSS second Dragon Mark from Swim Wales.

All Swimmers and Parents at CCSS wish you well for the future and a bit thank you – not forgetting Nicola (Tony’s wife) who has kept our club champs medals and trophies in order.

South East Wales Regionals

Last weekend CCSS took a squad to the first session of the South East Wales Regionals in Newport International Sports village.

Straight from the off there was a wealth of PB’s and outstanding swims by all swimmers who competed.

Some of the younger B squad swimmers were competing in their first ever Regionals, they all pb’d in every swim and the majority of them made finals – this is fantastic swimming.

The team spirit was great, with older and younger swimmers all taking and supporting each other all weekend.  The new warm up routine was also a welcome newcomer on poolside, and all squad members took time to warm up dry side.  Along with the NEW KIT that looked amazing (even on me), CCSS were there and other clubs commented on it.

We also brought home some silver wear – looking forward to another good weekend of fast swimming and PB’s and not forgetting the relays – Good luck CCSS

Competition forms

We have recently had a few competition forms that have been completed with differing personal information that is held on British Swimming and Swim Wales – please can all forms be entered with the exact details that are shown on the WASA card that you have.

There have been some anomalies in the last few events, and to change these is time consuming for the meet managers, and could result in the times from that meet not being entered onto the British Rankings.

If you are not sure what to do, please ask Sian.
