Don’t forget that the Christmas party is being held on Friday 13th December at the Islwyn bows club – Gelli Lane, Pntllanfraith, NP12 2JR – 7pm onwards.
All swimmers, siblings and families are welcome – it’s £10 a family to include a buffet and disco – please make sure you put your name down on the list with a committee member.
Due to party on Friday 13th there will be no training for Cand B squads on Friday night and there will be no training for A and B1 on Saturday morning.

All swimmers need to be poolside 15 minutes before warm up and if swimming the 800 / 1500 there will be a sign in sheet – if you don’t sign in, you will not be allowed to swim.
There is Long Course training on Sunday morning ,6th October for A, B1 and B squad from 08:00 – 10:00. The normal rules apply, you have to swim your session before to train on Sunday.
Please be aware that Sunday is also the Cardiff Half Marathon and there might be some slight disruption on the roads. I have attached a virtual map of road closures. The road to the pool in no affected, however, there might be traffic due to other diversions.
The Swim Wales Summer Open continues to be one of the largest open competitions in the UK, hosting over 1000 swimmers over 5 days of competition at the Wales National Pool, Swansea.
The Summer Open accommodates the invited Welsh top 16/8 swimmers after those selected to attend; and Caerphilly County Swim squad have a squad of 18 swimmers qualified to compete at this year’s meet with a full range of races from 50 Free to 800 Free , competing against some of the best swimmers in the UK.
All members of the Club, Coaching team, Committee and supporters wish you well. Next year we hope to have more swimmers competing at the top level.
Swimming will take a short break over the summer months for all swimmers, coaches and parents to rest and recharge before September. It is important that during the break swimmers are not training in the water, it is important to let the muscles time to recover – if you are in the water over the summer it is for fun!
Last session will be – Monday 5th August – B1 and A squad
Return session will be – Tuesday 27th August – A, B, B1 and C Squad
Please remember that all entry forms for the club championships have to be returned by Monday 29th July and they will take place over the weekend of 6-7-8 September and all swimmers are to enter this meet.
