All swimmers competing at the Llanelli meet – please be aware of the change of venue
As a result of the bad weather damage we have been informed by Carmarthenshire County Council that the pool at Llanelli has to be closed, and is likely to remain closed for several months, whilst repairs are carried out. The roof over the pool is unsafe.
The closure of the Llanelli pool obviously has a huge impact on the Llanelli Open Meet 2014 which was due to be held at Llanelli on 1st and 2nd March 2014.

Now for the good news!!
Since we became aware of the problems at Llanelli pool a great deal of work has been undertaken in ‘the background’ to find an alternative venue for our Open Meet and we are now extremely pleased to have secured the use of The Wales National Pool, Sketty Lane, Swansea for us to run the competition on the original dates (1st & 2nd March).
As WNP is an 8 lane pool I have reworked the session timings to account for the extra lanes and the new session times are shown in the attached document. The meet will still be run ‘Short Course’.
Some parents may have booked accommodation with the premier inn Llanelli for the weekend, there are premier inn’s in Swansea close to the WNP, therefore it may be advisable to try to change your booking reservation Premier Inn
