The Annual General Meeting will be held in Caerphilly Leisure Centre at 7.00pm on 24th February 2017

The nominations for Officers and committee members close on the 15th February 2017.There are three officers :
There are nine ordinary committee members required; two of these positions are for Welfare officers, of which there must be one male and one female.
Please ensure that the nominee is willing to stand for the position before nominating.
Safeguarding children within the aquatic environment is one of the most important aspects of being in a swimming club and competing, and everyone who is involved with the club in anyway would find this course advantageous.
The committee have arranged a safeguarding course for CCSS club that will take place in Caerphilly leisure centre on Monday 27th February, 6-9 pm. This course is FREE to CCSS members, parents and committee.
Anyone who is interested in taking part in the course, or being more involved with the club, please speak with Sian Boyles to secure a space. We need a minimum number of 12 to run the course, and we need final number by Friday 17th February.
Saturday 14 January, CCSS took a squad of 30 swimmers to compete at the Swim Wales New Year Meet – Pentathlon at the International Pool in Swansea.
Lots of good pb’s were achieved during the meet with some great individual swims and a great team spirit.
The overall Pentathlon Gold for girls aged 9 went to CCSS Amelia Watkins, who received her Gold Medal from Olympian Ieuan Lloyd.

The Club has arranged a First Aid training course that is open to all parents and swimmers (Over 14) that are interested.
The course has been arranged for Saturday 21st January 9;30 am start at Cefn Fforest School, Cefn Fforest Avenue, NP12 1JX (turn right opposite leisure centre).
We have already had some interest, there are still spaces for anyone else wishing to join us ( its FREE ), if you wish to join the course please let Tony Roberts know as soon as possible.
Training dates for all squads during the Christmas shut down will be limited due to essential maintenance work being carried out on the plant room in Caerphilly.

Tuesday 20th December – 6:30-7:30 B& C squad – Heolddu
7:30- 9:00 B1 & A squad – Heolddu
Wednesday 21st December – No training for all squads – Caerphilly
Thursday 22nd December – 6:00 – 7:00 C squad – Cefn Forest (B squad are able to attend)

Training will start back with normal sessions for all squads on Tuesday 3rd January 2017.

This event is a one day event on Saturday 14th January 2017. All swimmers 15 and under are to enter this meet. Entry closes on Monday 12th December, and all entries are via the Swim Wales online entry system
Swim Wales New Year Swimming Pentathlon Champs (50m) 2017
Over last weekend CCSS took a large team of swimmers to the South East Wales Sub Regionals at the City Of Newport International Sports village.
A long weekend, starting on Friday evening with the 800, 1500 and through to Sunday evening with the relay events. All swimmers gave 100% and the personal best times were outstanding.
As a team, CCSS had a great weekend of swimming coming away with 23 GOLD, 16 SILVER and 13 BRONZE medals a total of 52 MEDALS – there were also numerous 4 positions and a fantastic team spirit during the weekend form all swimmers and supporters – diolch pawb.
